The biggest challenge for installing DWDM-systems is to find the right compromise between testing time and "test level". Both so far are also limited by the number of test instruments available for use at the same time. Cascading signal lines during installation and commissioning minimizes test time, but complicates fault location in case of an error. The ONT concept not only offers multi-port applications, but also is the one and only platform that follows the trend of emerging technologies, addressing digital, optical and IP/PoS analysis in one single unit:
- Quick comprehensive overview of all lines connected to the SDH/SONET interfaces of the instrument via the Quick BERT functionality.
- On top of this you are able to start simultaneously measurements with the OSA-160/-200 Optical Spectrum Analyzer reflecting wavelengths, power levels and OSNRs for the total DWDM system.
- Fastest signal qualification using the OQM-200 Q-factor meter
