Data/IP Testing in the Mobile World
Increasingly data/IP applications and protocols are found in wireless networks. GPRS, GTP and UMTS data connections are gaining momentum and starting to stretch the capabilities of telecom signaling analyzers. Typically telecom signaling analyzers focus on multi-port, multi protocol analysis and correlation while data services engineering staff need a tool to analyze router/switch IP control plane connections plus IP conversations and flows.

Comprehensive conversation tables show which subscribers are connected to data service or ISPs. Furthermore traffic is automatically categorised by VLAN, subnet or MPLS flow to aid traffic engineering. In wireless applications, resolving the mobile subscriber/IP numbering is greatly simplified as is the ability to diagnose GTP (GPRS Tunnelled conversations) problems and radius log-on issues.
