Ruggedized Displays

Ruggedized Displays

Ruggedized displays are typically installed in computing systems or instruments used in mobile, industrial, or military applications. Examples include military and emergency vehicles, airplanes, marine devices and laptops, or tablet PCs used by students and businesspeople. These displays are designed to resist temperature variations, vibration, shock, moisture, and dust. In some cases, electromagnetic emission suppression is desired to prevent bystanders from eavesdropping on the information displayed and to protect the display from external emissions. Other attributes may also be required such as heating for the LCD, lighter weight, impact resistance, and special cooling systems.

Since ruggedized displays are often used outdoors or under a variety of different lighting conditions, they usually offer anti-reflection coatings. Whether the application demands heating, anti-reflection, or emission suppression, JDSU offers the required durable, uniform, high quality coatings. In addition, greater impact resistance can be achieved with specialty or laminated glass. Using reliable, consistent processes JDSU provides the high performance products essential for these demanding applications.
