Synopsis
This course covers DS1/HDSL theory in the virtual classroom in order to prepare students for Extensive hands-on training in a face-to-face workshop environment. The face-to-face training will apply theory learned in the virtual classroom. Participants will first provision an HDSL/DS1 circuit from copper qualification to DS1 BERT. The instructor will then introduce faults into the circuit for the students to isolate and repair. Common repair issues such as faulty copper (HDSL and DS1), line code misoptions, timing misoptions, etc. will covered. Time will be spent ensuring the technicians know how to configure HDSL equipment for proper DS1 operation and analyze Performance Monitoring information to isolate faults. DS1 test equipment will be used to perform a variety of in-service and out-of-service tests including loop backs.
