Fibre Channel

JDSU's Xgig Analysis and Test Platform for Fibre Channel is a versatile, state-of-art solution designed to help users overcome complex design challenges and accelerate development of today's high-speed serial Storage Area Networks (SAN) and subsystems.  Providing best-of-class performance and functionality, the Xgig platform offers advanced multi-protocol, multi-application, and multi-channel capabilities that greatly reduce manufacturing test times and speed time-to-market for hubs, host bus adapters, Fibre Channel RAIDs, and other active or passive devices.

The Xgig Analysis and Test Platform for Fibre Channel provides essential high-performance monitoring and protocol analysis of live traffic for 1, 2, 4, and 8 Gb/s Fibre Channel as well as complementary application protocols such as iSCSI, FCP, FICON and FCIP.  In addition, by eliminating the need for expensive servers and extensive storage arrays in test setups, users will experience significant savings in terms of rack space, power, cabling, and equipment cost.

The extensive capabilities of the Xgig platform extend beyond product design and debugging to manufacturing regression testing and in-field troubleshooting.  Network administrators can also gain greater visibility into the data centers to maximize network performance and reliability through dedicated monitoring of packet traffic.  Using baseline measurements to automatically monitor adverse changes in network performance and alarms to collect additional information once performance metrics exceed acceptable thresholds, administrators can quickly pinpoint the root cause of impairments and resolve problems that adversely affect SAN availability to ensure that mission-critical Enterprise applications have uninhibited, unrestricted access to SAN data.
