Fiber Lasers
JDSU fiber lasers (IFL Series) provide up to 25 watts of diffraction-limited infrared laser power. Circular spots as small as a few microns in diameter can be focused onto the workplace or thermal media with a long working distance, providing the user with an intense, non-contact heat source. The nominal output wavelength of the fiber laser is 1 µm.
IFL Series lasers incorporate JDSU diode lasers, which set the industry standard for reliability and lifetime, and which are unaffected by power cycling. These lasers come complete with heatsink and fan, power supply, and control electronics. A key benefit of these lasers is their compact size and fiber delivery, which allow easy placement and integration. They are simple to operate and require only standard wall plug power and direct air cooling.
Applications for the IFL include a variety of materials processing applications such as precision marking, bending, selective soldering, and micro-cutting.
