JDSU Partners with SyntheSys Research

With the compressed timeline to bring new network technologies to market, compliance testing plays an increasingly more important role in the manufacturers’ laboratory and on the production floor. A channel agreement between JDSU’s CPO and SyntheSys Research gives network equipment manufacturers seamless access to technologically advanced instruments and automated solutions for validating the quality of the physical layer, optical components, modules, and network elements. The agreement covers Europe (excluding Israel), Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan), Canada, and targeted accounts in the U.S. SyntheSys Research, Inc.’s technological innovations are incorporated into bit error ratio and digital video test products used to identify and locate the source of errors in digital data streams. For example, the patented BitAlyzer® Error Location Analysis™ uses powerful correlations to track errors, which leads to more successful resolution of digital data error problems. Additionally, the company’s clock recovery instrument, BertScope, was the winner in DesignVision’s Test and Measurement category and also received Frost and Sullivan’s 2005 Best in Test product award.

JDSU’s partnership with SyntheSys Research gives companies a complete range of high-speed electrical and optical measurement instruments that test 10GbE, SAN, and OTN and provide FEC and next-generation network analysis. Advanced capabilities include:

  • Ethernet and Fibre Channel jitter and stressed eye testing for rates from 52Mbps up to 10 Gig
  • Eye diagrams
  • BER contour
  • Q factor
