6000/6000A Firmware Installation Instructions

Please read the instructions below before loading the file.

You are now able to download the firmware by clicking on the link below. Once this is done, the steps below shall be performed. Please read the instructions below before upgrading your 6000/6000A platform with the firmware you got from the web.

To load the new firmware pack version into your 6000/6000A mainframe, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Format the USB key with the 6000/6000A platform (ensure you have at least 128MB memory available).
    • Insert the USB into the 6000/6000A base USB port.
    • Press the SYSTEM button, then select successively Expert tools > Media utilities > USBflash format > and confirm, in order to format the USB.
  2. Put your USB memory stick into your PC.
  3. Copy the .exe file that you got from the web, and save it into your PC.
  4. Once the transfer is completed open the .exe file. A window will appear called "Winzip self extractor". Check that the folder is correct i.e. the USB memory stick driver is appearing "Name:\" then press unzip.
  5. A message indicating the number of files have been unzipped successfully will then appear.
  6. Then remove the USB memory stick using the appropriate procedure for your PC.
  7. Plug your USB memory stick into your test platform. Make sure that your unit is switched off and not connected to any power supply first. Connect to power supply to the platform. Then switch on the unit.
  8. Press the "System" hard key, then press "Expert tools" soft key. Then press "Software upgrade" soft key.
  9. Press "Copy from USB" soft key. A message saying "Are you sure?" will then appear. Press the "confirm" key and follow the process stated in the unit.
  10. The upgrade will then take place (approximately 5 minutes). The 6000/6000A will be restarting twice during this procedure and your platform will be ready to use.
  11. To verify that the unit has been effectively updated, then press the “System” hard key followed by the “Help” soft key, and look at the firmware versions.
