JDSU uses proprietary printing processes to achieve outstanding results withits SecureShift® technology. SecureShift inks contain optically variable microflakes that appear to shift color when from different angles. JDSU incorporates this technology to produce SecureShift MetaSwitch labels and SecureShift Phantom labels. Both provide self-evident and difficult-to-reproduce security mechanisms that are strong deterrents to counterfeiting.
SecureShift MetaSwitch labels use a specially formulated non-shifting ink that matches a SecureShift ink color. With the patented MetaSwitch effect, only a portion of the label design is printed with color-shifting ink. This highlights the contrast between the color shifting and static color part of the label. As a result, consumers can quickly and visually verify product authenticity. SecureShift MetaSwitch was introduced in 2005, winning AIMCAL’s Technical Excellence in Security award.
SecureShift Phantom labels offer cutting-edge protection for brand owners requiring label design and graphics that adhere to brand attributes. SecureShift microflakes are manipulated to create an eye-catching, dynamic shadow effect that appears to move through the security label. These unique color-shifting patterns and colors match company logos and colors, and capture the attention of consumers. As an integral component of a complete brand protection solution, Phantom labels are easy to authenticate visually, yet present an additional obstacle to counterfeiters.
