Renewable Energy

Photo courtesy of SolFocus, Inc.JDSU concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) cells are primarily intended for use under concentrated sunlight, typically in the range of 100 X to 1,000 X. Under some conditions, these cells can be exposed to 1,500 X for maximum power delivery per unit cell area. In a CPV system, the cell is the “engine” for power generation. JDSU CPV cells are optimized for the highest performance when combined with the appropriate refractive or reflective optical-concentration system.

Due to a variety of concentrating optical systems, JDSU takes an open and flexible approach to customer needs and requirements. Through customization, JDSU provides integrated design capability to maximize power output for customer-specific optical-concentrator designs.
