This SFP is an integrated fiber optic transceiver that provides a high-speed serial link at a signaling rate up to 4.25 Gbps. Ideally suited for Fibre Channel and Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) applications, it can also be used for other serial applications where high data rates are required.

The transceiver features a microprocessor with imbedded nonvolatile RAM (NRAM), where vital product data is stored. Additionally, this lead-free transceiver is a certified Class 1 laser safe product that complies with the European Union RoHS Directive on the restriction of certain hazardous substances.
