Detector Trimmers
Detector trimmers are used with silicon detectors to modify, through attenuation, the spectral response of the detector. Since silicon detectors are responsive to a broad range of wavelengths, it becomes important to filter the incoming light to minimize or eliminate noise caused by unwanted wavelengths.
Standard detector trimmers from JDSU are designed for use in photographic applications where transmission of visible energy and attenuation of ultraviolet and infrared energy are desired. They are designed to be used in front of the detector in a non-imaging plane.
These detector trimmers are hard, multilayer, vacuum deposited filters with high transmission and rejection characteristics. They exhibit steep cut-on or cut-off slopes and are extremely stable when submitted to moderate temperatures, humidity, thermal shock, aging, handling, and abrasion.
