Synopsis
This course will introduce the key concepts behind the fiber optic technology, proper care and handling techniques, and the process to perform basic Fiber Characterization tests. After a basic understanding of the technology is established, participants will learn how to verify an optical network’s ability to sustain multiple wavelengths and high data rates using the automated fiber characterization testing script on the T-BERD 8000 (TB-8000). Participants will learn how to locate and analyze test results, and an emphasis is placed on the importance of proper fiber inspection and cleaning before connecting.
