TPP Version 4.7 is an integral part of the successful deployment of the new DSAM version 4.0.  In addition to making Field View QAM™ and SmartID™ set up easy and transparent to technicians, version 4.7 improves FCC compliant Proof of Performance (PoP) testing, with unmatched comprehensive FCC PoP reporting.

New Features Related to DSAM 4.0

Note: Version 4.7 supports both XT and non-XT DSAM models.  It is very important to note that DSAM 4.0 firmware can only be deployed to XT DSAMs with TPP version 4.7.  Prior TPP versions do not support DSAM firmware version 4.0.

Field View QAM™ Support

• Manage & deploy multiple WebView™ server configurations to DSAM
• Generate required proxy configuration files if WebView server is configured to be behind an Apache HTTP proxy server (DMZ server). The DMZ server setup is the most secure way to allow the DSAM to talk to a WebView server, and widely used as an industry standard.
  
  

SmartID Support

• Configure upstream, downstream and MoCA frequencies.  Cable type information is also configurable.
• Manage and deploy service plans
• Each service plan is a collection of upstream, downstream, MoCA and ingress limits
• Enable or disable a set of limits
• View measurement files saved on DSAM, where each file has:
• Network topology
• Voice & Video & Data quality table including related measurement errors

• TPP defaults pre-existing Channel Plans to DOCSIS 3.0 regardless of meter type (though the DSAM defaults based on meter's DOCSIS version)

New Features Not Related to DSAM 4.0

Proof of Performance (PoP) Reporting Enhancements

1. Ability to delete channels from 24 hour PoP tests.
2. Ability to ignore channel and frequency type errors from 6 month PoP tests.
• This is useful for example if analog channels are changed to digital channels between winter and summer 24 hour PoP tests.
3. Ability to import a CSV file with Analog and Digital measurement data for respective tests in a 24 hour PoP report.
4. Ability to add comments to a 24 hour PoP report.
5. 24 hour PoP reports now populate active analog and digital channels count from channel plan used.
6. Ability to configure required fields for a 24 hour PoP report creation.
7. Ability to configure matching fields between 24 hour POP reports during 6 month PoP report creation.
8. For a 24 hour PoP report, ability to pull Report Name and Test Point information from location information present in measurement file.
9. Ability to configure signal quality units of measure for PoP reports.
10. Changed criteria for  determination of uniqueness of a 24 hour or 6 month PoP report from using Report Name to following set of fields:
    • Report Name, System, Test Point, Test Point Location, Headend/Hub & Municipality

Bug Fixes included in TPP v4.7:

• In some scenarios, TechID changes not getting updated on user record changes.
• In pop report configuration page, deleted channel appears in refreshed POP report configuration with selected check box when there are errors in saving report.
• POP CSV Import fails if the file is edited in Microsoft Excel.
• Clicking on "Excel Export" link in 6 Month configuration page, TPP is not applying Ignore frequency settings to exported report.
• Search of 24Hour Reports/ 6Month reports by Name always gives an error.
• On deleting a channel the adjacent channel delta is not recalculated and still results in a failure for the adjacent channel
• In POP, CSV import results in errors on importing a file after removing untested channels.

TPP Administrators: please pay attention to the DSAM upgrade instructions below.

DSAM Firmware upgrade support:

• DSAM 3.7.* (and earlier versions) for XT and non-XT (original) meters:
• Deployable by all TPP versions.
• Exists as an XML and ZIP file with the same name, except for the extensions.
• DSAM 4.0 (and future/later versions): for XT meters only
• Deployable by TPP 4.7 and later.
• TPP v4.7 and later will not list (or allow selection) of any non-XT meters for deployment.
• This protects the customer from damaging their meter with the wrong firmware.
• Only exists as a ZIP file (no separate XML file).
• TPP 4.6 will not allow browsing to the DSAM 4.0 firmware, since there is no external XML file to find.
• If a customer extracts the XML file internal to the ZIP file, they'll get an error which still prevents deployment of the firmware.
  
  

DSAM Meter Option and BPI+ Certificate deployment support:

• All versions of these files (always with an XML and ZIP file pair) will be deployable by any version of TPP.

Upgrading TPP from Earlier Versions

In order to upgrade your TPP software to version 4.7, you must start from at least version 4.3 (see table below). If you have an earlier version than 4.3, you must first upgrade from your version to a higher version. Please call TAC if you have any questions.
