The WaveReady WRT-852 is a multirate bidirectional transponder that converts short-reach 10 Gb/s optical signals to long-reach, single-mode dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical interfaces. Its network interface is C- or L-Band tunable and supports mapping of client signals into OTU2 (G.709) with forward error correction (FEC). Supporting dense wavelength multiplexing schemes, the WRT-852 can expand the useable bandwidth of a single optical fiber to over 800 Gb/s.
