LCD/Liquid Crystal Display

The most common application of liquid crystal technology is LCDs. From wristwatches and pocket calculators to an advanced VGA computer screen to projective-capacitive cell phones, LCD display has evolved into an important and versatile interface. LCD panels offer many advantages, including reduced size, lower weight, greater reliability, and lower power consumption. Today’s computer or instrument displays usually require antireflection attributes, yet typical LCD panels can have disadvantages, such as sensitivity to surface contamination (fingerprints, oil and chemicals) which creates an additional optical layer that greatly increases reflection at the point of contact.

JDSU offers several high-performance solutions that enhance LCD technology and eliminate the disadvantages.
