Fluorescence-based instruments are becoming more important in areas such as genomics, proteomics, pharmaceutical research, drug discovery, medical diagnostics, and analytical instrumentation. The constant increase in the number and quality of available reagents drives a need for more filter configurations and for more precise filters. JDSU designs single-substrate, hard-dielectric fluorescence filters to the highest standards. Our new Ucp-1 coating platform with its high throughput and superior precision allows for a new paradigm in fluorescence filters: "Performance equal to IBS (ion beam sputtered) filters at the cost of traditional filters."
