Filter, UV/IR Blocking

Filter, UV/IR Blocking

Stability for High-Performance Projection Applications

Most modern-day, high-intensity light sources produce ultraviolet (UV), infrared (IR) and visible radiation. For many applications, such as projection systems, it is necessary to efficiently separate these components.

JDSU UV/IR filters block the high-energy UV as well as the heat-generating IR component, via reflection, while simultaneously transmitting the required visible light, all with minimal loss.

Since both the unwanted UV and IR components are reflected rather than absorbed, these filters are not subject to the same level of color center formation and/or thermal stress as absorbing type filters.

These UV/IR filters possess superior spectral stability and physical durability characteristics. Compared to organic dye or gelatin filters, no degradation of performance is measurable with age and use. The hard, all-dielectric coatings are extremely durable when exposed to heat, humidity, thermal shock, abrasion and handling, having been manufactured to the specifications of MIL-C-675A and MIL-M-13508C.

Our complete production facilities can support your optical filter requirements, from design through OEM volumes. We provide worldwide customer service and global technical support in optical system design and manufacturing.
