JDSU UV filters can be used for many applications in which the harmful portion of the UV light spectrum must be eliminated while transmitting the desired wavelength. For example, genetic cell research can require an instrument that incorporates fluorescence filters in the UV that can filter out harmful UV rays from a light source, while allowing the correct wavelength to affect the cell in order to obtain key information.
Another application is environmental monitoring, which uses UV filters to select specific wavelengths useful in determining whether substances such as water or oil have been contaminated with other materials.
