JDSU Search Tips
- Search only one item at a time.
- Make searches short and precise.
- Use full words instead of partial words.
- Check spelling, including industry terms (e.g., gb/s vs gbps, fiberoptic vs. fibre
optic).
- Restrict use of acronyms to only those that are very common such as EDFA and MEMS.
- Search is not case sensitive.
- Get zero or too few results? Be more general to broaden search, such as "laser"
instead of "14xx pump laser".
- Too many results? Be more specific to narrow search, such as. "2.5 gb/s transponder"
instead of "transponder".
- Search the appropriate areas of the site. Try using the drop down menu located next
to the search box.
- Try synonyms. For example, search "photodiode" if "detector" does not produce desired
result.
- Order counts. If "1xn switch" doesn't work try "nx1 switch".
- Spacing counts. Instead of "980nmpump" try "980 nm pump".
- Avoid punctuation such as quotes, commas, dashes and hyphens (exception: slash used
in gb/s).
