JDSU Introduces the World’s First 12 G SAS Test Solution for Next-Generation Storage Solutions
Building upon its leadership position in the SAS (serial-attached SCSI) tester market, JDSU today introduces the Xgig 12 G SAS Analyzer, the industry’s first SAS testing solution, that helps storage equipment manufacturers complete the development of storage equipment compatible with advanced 12 G SAS technology.
The JDSU Xgig 12 G SAS Analyzer provides accurate, fast, and comprehensive analysis of 12 G SAS links to ensure quality data transmission. It helps manufacturers quickly identify and fix mission-critical errors, ensuring reliable delivery of next-generation 12 G SAS-based solutions. The 12 G SAS doubles the data transfer rate of existing solutions, allowing SAS infrastructure to deliver bandwidth that exceeds that of PCI Express® 3.0.

“The JDSU Xgig 12 Gbps SAS analyzer has allowed us to effectively validate our 12 Gbps SAS RAID on a chip controller and expanders here at LSI,” said Stu Nuffer, Director of Systems Engineering, RAID Storage Division, LSI, “Having access to an analyzer early in the development cycle is key to finding protocol issues that would affect the performance of our product in the field.”
The JDSU 12 G SAS analyzer offers several key benefits:
- A timely, first-to-market tester means customers can bring next-generation solutions to market to meet their aggressive schedules.
- Line-rate capture at all layers lets customers minimize the time spent debugging, enabling them to focus their critical resources on new-product development.
- Customer labs can simplify bench setup and minimize tool investments with the high-port-count capacity of the Xgig.
The new Xgig 12 G SAS Analyzer is a blade option for the JDSU Xgig 5000 chassis. Generator and Jammer are other functions available on this blade.
