The award recognizes companies that have made an outstanding contribution to Sun’s ability to deliver superior quality and service to customers. 

Sun recognizes its top suppliers based on a combination of technology, quality, cost and supply.  JDS Uniphase, the only fiber optic manufacturer to be awarded a Sun supplier award, has been working with Sun for nearly a decade to help increase information system bandwidth and provide faster access to large stores of data. Specifically, JDS Uniphase provides modules for Sun’s storage area network (SAN) switches and servers with data transfer rates up to 2 Gb/s.
