Problem:

I am trying to perform a copper reference on my Viavi 40G Certifier and getting a probe mismatch error message.

Solution:

You cannot perform a reference with 2 channel adapters. A reference needs to be done with a permanent link adapter on the local unit and a channel adapter on the remote using one permanent link cable.
